Sakamoto Days est un manga de SUZUKI Yûto. Ce shonen édité chez Glénat nous plonge dans la vie d’un assassin légendaire, ayant décidé de changer de vie et de devenir épicier.

Taro Sakamoto est un assassin légendaire, le meilleur d’entre tous, craint par tous les gangsters, adulé par ses pairs. Mais un beau jour… il tombe amoureux !
S’ensuivent retraite, mariage, paternité… et prise de poids. Sakamoto est aujourd’hui patron d’une petite épicerie de quartier et coule des jours heureux avec sa famille. Mais lorsque son passé le rattrape sous les traits de Shin, un jeune assassin télépathe, Sakamoto reprend du service… et malgré son apparence, il est toujours aussi charismatique lorsqu’il passe à l’action !

Dans un monde où les tueurs légendaires peuvent prendre la voie de l’épicier de quartier, « Sakamoto Days » nous offre une histoire délicieusement imprévisible, mêlant action, humour et émotion avec brio. Taro Sakamoto, autrefois un assassin redoutable, a troqué ses armes contre des nouilles et des boîtes de conserve en tant que gérant d’une petite supérette. Cependant, lorsque son passé ressurgit avec une prime sur sa tête, l’histoire prend une tournure inattendue.
Une bouffée d’air frais dans le genre !
L’intrigue prend son envol lorsque Shin, un jeune assassin télépathe, découvre le retraité Sakamoto et tente de le convaincre de revenir à son ancien métier. Ce qui aurait pu être une trame banale prend une dimension extraordinaire grâce à un duo dynamique formé par Sakamoto et Shin. Le lecteur est instantanément charmé par l’esprit familial qui règne dans la supérette, où l’ancien assassin se révèle être un père aimant et un défenseur des plus faibles.
Les scènes d’action et de comédie sont parfaitement exécutées, créant un équilibre harmonieux entre le rire et l’adrénaline. Les dessins captent l’essence des personnages, avec le visage rond de Sakamoto et les expressions bien travaillées de l’ensemble du casting. Le contraste entre le passé violent de Sakamoto et sa vie actuelle apporte une profondeur émotionnelle inattendue, renforçant l’attachement du lecteur aux protagonistes.
« Sakamoto Days » ne se contente pas de reposer sur des clichés d’action, mais propose un scénario bien construit qui explore le passé de Sakamoto tout en introduisant de nouveaux défis. L’humour décalé et les situations surréalistes s’intègrent parfaitement, rappelant l’équilibre réussi de séries telles que « La Voie du Tablier » voir même « John Wick » ou « The Fable ». Les péripéties endiablées, des courses-poursuites en moto aux confrontations avec la mafia, offrent un cocktail d’émotions et de rebondissements.
L’auteur, Yuto Suzuki, signe ici une première série personnelle prometteuse, apportant une bouffée d’air frais au genre shonen. « Sakamoto Days » promet d’être l’une des comédies-phares du genre, avec son mélange unique de comique de situation et d’action bien dosée. Si vous cherchez une lecture divertissante et décomplexée, ce manga est à découvrir sans plus attendre, que vous soyez petit ou grand. « Sakamoto Days » réussit brillamment à conjuguer l’humour, l’action et l’émotion dans un cocktail explosif qui en fait un incontournable du genre. Un véritable coup de cœur !
